Mother's Day celebrations are extremely important in the Lower School at Lovett. Both first and third grade students hold special presentations for their mothers, grandmothers, and special friends. This year, Third Graders (in both Spanish and French class) created a flower that describes all the special reasons why they care about their loved one. In the center bud, it states, "I love you because..." in their target language, and each petal is a descriptive word or phrase. Mothers were so excited to hear a special poem and song in both French and Spanish. Click on the video below to hear the song that we sang during the presentation. It was a beautiful day!
It's always interesting to watch when children take charge of their learning. Today we played number BINGO in first grade, and instead of Señora Hoyos calling the numbers, a student was selected to be the caller. Students were so excited to be the "profesor/professora" and practice their numbers!
Today we celebrated the birthday of the ant in third grade. Students were so excited to join together with Sra. Fonseca's class to celebrate such a fun occasion. Third Graders honored La Hormiga by making paper ants and snacked on treats. Enjoy photos from our fiesta and a cute little video in honor of La Hormiga.
Today, 3rd graders filled out their, "Todo Sobre Mi" (All About Me) to introduce themselves to the class. Students filled out the questionnaire and presented their personal favorites to their peers.
Welcome to my first post! I am so excited to pair two of my passions-technology and love of language. Even though I enjoyed my summer vacation, I am thrilled to start my first year as a Lovett Lower School Spanish teacher. This year, I will teach all of kindergarten, first grade, and one section of third grade with Señora Fonseca. If you have any questions, concerns, or simply want to say hi, please feel free to contact me via e-mail: email@example.com or (404) 262-3032, ext. 1166.
A life-long learner who is combining two of my favorite passions: technology and love of languages...
