I downloaded an awesome video about Valencia, Spain. It's great for elementary/middle school students. There are so many great activities that you can do with this video. I thought I'd share for all of my teacher friends. Enjoy!! Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18. Our wonderful librarians have selected books in honor of Hispanic Heritage month that are displayed on top of the bookshelves. Students, be sure to check one out!
I have just added a "video" game where I have turned one of the videos found here into a game to practice vocabulary recall. Enjoy! Remember when I posted about a Chilean group that covers popular songs in Spanish? You can find the post here. They're back with new songs! Students love to listen to them in class and compare the lyrics in both languages. Enjoy!
